Gwynne Wood

Gwynne Wood (they/she) is an actor based on the East Coast. Most recently they have been on Broadway and on tour with Diane Paulus and Jeffrey L. Page's revival of 1776 as George Read, understudying Thomas Jefferson, Edward Rutledge, and Richard Henry Lee.

Post pandemic they joined the development of Shaina Taub's SUFFS at the Public in New York City and toured the country with the Tony Award winning revival of Oklahoma! directed by Daniel Fish. Gwynne understudied Ado Annie, Laurey Williams, and Gertie Cummings. Additionally, Gwynne opened the Kansas City Starlight Theater for its first public performance after the Covid shutdown as Will Parker - a role they learned in a matter of hours.

 

Gwynne is passionate about queer stories, new work, and examining classic texts through the current zeitgeist.
