Gwynne Wood

Gwynne Wood (they/she) is an actor based on the East Coast. Currently you can catch them originating the role of "Suz" Off-Broadway in the world premiere of Kairos Looney's House of Telescopes, directed by Lyam Gabel.

Post pandemic they joined the development of Shaina Taub's SUFFS at the Public in New York City and toured the country with the Tony Award winning revival of Oklahoma! directed by Daniel Fish. Gwynne understudied "Ado Annie", "Laurey", and "Gertie". Additionally, Gwynne opened the Kansas City Starlight Theater for its first public performance after the Covid shutdown as "Will Parker" - a role they learned in a matter of hours.

They made their Broadway debut in Diane Paulus and Jeffrey L. Page's revival of 1776 as "George Read", and went on to tour that same production as "Read" while understudying "Thomas Jefferson", "Edward Rutledge", and "Richard Henry Lee".

Gwynne is passionate about queer stories, new work, and examining classic texts through the current zeitgeist.
